Discovery Navigation Pro Limits...

Usb hard drive only gets as far as end C folder?

ie.

A
B
C

in the root and then albums underneath maybe limited to 1000 folders?

It just states no playable files in folder (say D) and displays it as empty.

Anyone got any similar issues with any of the mk7 systems? using USB hard disks. Have plugged it into the advanced tele prep usb port in the arm rest.

Same disk worked fine on the MDI on the mk6 all files and folders accessible. It is Fat32 already.

Does it actually support hard drives? I know some devices you have USB storage on don't support actual disks...

Also, there probably are limits on the number of entries in the root directory, but in each sub folder there should be a limit of something like 64,000 entries, so an alphabetic root followed by the content beneath these should be ok.... as long as it supports disks...

Have you tried the same with a USB stick instead?

I've only tried SD cards, an ipod and bluetooth audio.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Not tried a USB stick, I don't have one big enough to stick the first few folders. It should support up to 2TB of data so a 500Gb should be ok, the mk6 did with no problems at all. I am sort of assuming its the same as SD cards but I could be wrong. Might try NTFS to see if that has any luck with a smaller disk as a test bed.

The manual has this:
