Hi all, new to the forum. I have a 97 mk3 golf with a 1.4 aex engine which is burning excessive amounts of oil because the rings are worn out and the cylinder liners are scratched badly, these engines are troublesome anyway but i have come across an abd engine with less miles in good condition and the price is reasonable, i have heard that it is possible to swap the aex out for the abd but it requires also changing the ecu and loom, what i want to know is can i swap them out and put the aex manifold and throttle body on the abd engine or if not could i swap the cylinder heads? And info would be much appreciated.
