Car valuation

My policy is coming up for renewal soon, and when it comes to the value of my vehicle, what I think its worth and what the insurer says its worth, if the worst should happen, may differ slightly. So does anyone know how I can get my car valued? Maybe get a certificate of sorts from a reputable source? I thought of poppin to a car dealers and trying to get an honest price there, but then I woke up and reality kicked in. I'm in West Yorkshire, so if anyone knows of anywhere local what may do such a thing, or just have any info for me, please post up! As always, thanks for any info!!

You can get agreed value policies.

A regular insurer won't give a hoot about some certificate. Might give you a bit more to argue with. But they will shaft you regardless. Maybe im just a glass half empty guy...

Is an agreed value policy something only certain insurers do, or any insurer does, just so long as you ask? Never had to enquire about one before, but never been that bothered other cars I've owned. I put quite a lot of time and effort into this one, and have no intention of getting rid anytime soon. Now that I feel like its finally finished, I want to make sure its insured for its worth!

Specialist insurers do agree value policies.

And what you have just described suggests you should be with a specialist anyway! May be a bit more money, but worth in the event of a claim
