Clank, Clank

Got in the GTI this morning, driving down the road (uneven as they are!), and I could hear quite a loud clanking/knocking coming from the rear end?

Got out and checked the exhaust, pushed the car down at the rear...nothing?

I suspect its bushes or something?

Could anyone else think/suggest what it could be please? (and associated costs )

Regards,

Mart

Is it more of a thud or metal clunk? Have you looked at your rear dust shield. I have know them to to come a touch loose and rattle over uneven roads.

Hmmm...? found the prob. Infortunately it was a snapped rear spring. Just the end part but it had fallen into the rear suspension arm and was rattling around in there!

Maybe time for a spring upgrade?

If so, which springs, where from and associated costs please

Thanks.
