Urgent help required before commiting to buy please!
« on: 15 September 2014, 09:06 »
Alright guys, any help would be seriously appreciated if you could.
With me buying a milltek cat back non res this week for my mk6 gti, will the car then need remapping again?
As i have already got a stage 1 bluefin, but would it need to br mapped again to suit the exhaust?
Or is it just a case of bolting on, and all will be fine with that map that i've already got?!
Urgent help required, before commiting to buying the exhaust.
Thanks

All will be fine, but don't expect any meaningful power gains from it. There is a lot said about the importance of fine tuning maps to suit modifications, but when you consider the wide range of operating perimeters that a road car's engine needs to work at, changing the exhaust will make little or no difference at all.

Yes, the tailored map would take into account the exhaust and give you optimum power when all the stars are aligned correctly, but personally I don't think that it makes a jot of difference in real world driving situations.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Go with dubber36 advice, put the milltek exhaust on mine with no problems. No changes to the map needed. It was more to be pleasing on the eye to those that follow...
