4mo Brake Calipers
« on: 10 September 2014, 12:57 »
Hi Folks,

About to overhaul the brakesat the end of the month on the golf. I have the 312mm setup.

However I have a set of calipers from a 4 motion spare. They have a creame sort of coating on the calipers and have GT stamped on it. 312mm too.

Anyone know if these any better than the standard 312mm calipers or the same?

I can get picture if need be or part no if need be.

Thanks

No difference I think. It's the carrier that is different to fit the 312 discs.

I read somewhere the other day that there are 2 sizes of pistons on the 288mm/ 312mm calipers. ..not sure which ones though?

Thanks folks,

I will stick to my calipers I have and sell the others. I was thinking that they were maybe better heat efficent than the standards.
