mk v gti limp mode
« on: 17 July 2014, 01:13 »
Hi All,

Not sure if anyone can help me.My gti mk v DSG had a yellow flashing light appear on the dash yesterday.Exhaust manifold according to the book.Stopped and switched off the engine. The car then went into limp mode once I started it again.I have had it plugged into a diagnostic computer and all it showed is voltage problem.
Error message 5634-POWER SUPPLY TERMINAL 30 ...P1602-002 VOLTAGE TO LOW- INTERMITTENT but the battery is sitting at 12.7 volts and all seems good in that respect.

if its in limp mode there will be a fault code, if its not boosting (need to do some data logging) then it could be a dead turbo.

Cheers dead turbo... Have had to take it VW now.. They have spent 6 hours now at £90 an hour and still no further on... They have now said its a wiring fault but still don't know what's wrong with it????
So frustrating and it's looking like an expensive fix before they even diagnose it!!!!

Apparently it's not showing any fault codes now.... Which makes it even harder to diagnose

I'd get it out of VW and to a local independent specialist. Cheaper and more likely to find what's wrong and fix it properly.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Cheers, Already have taken it to an independent Garage that specialize in VW.. They couldn't fix it.
VW still don't know. The  ECU is the next thing to be replaced. They have had the car two weeks now.
They completed a wiring check and said all looks fine.
