MK4 GOLF - BRAKE ISSUES

Hi,

Newly registered member. I recently purchased a MK4 GOLF GTI - and was advised that the brakes needed looking at. Changed all pads and discs (personal choice) then found that the brake pedal travelled all the way down, resevoir is full after attempting to bleed the brakes.

After 3 attempts, changed the Master Cylinder, and another bleed done, but still no better with the pedal.

Is there a correct sequence to bleeding? Or am i missing something?

I had this when I had air trapped in the ABS unit.

Need VAG-COM to activate it while bleeding.

Mk4s are a C*NT to bleed. Its the rear calipers. If you have a look at the bleed nipple its in a sh1t place. Its angled. You can try the vag com abs bleed but you will need genuine vagcom to purge the abs. Other way i thought of bleeding the calipers is to take the caliper off the carrier and wedge something like a wood block to stop the piston coming out all the way and hold the caliper in such a way that the nipple is at the highiest point
