Fuel Gauge Issue
« on: 04 August 2014, 00:12 »

Hi guys

I recently broke down and soon realised the fault was with a dodgy fuel gauge.
Gauge said I had a quarter of a tank but actually I had  diddly squat in the tank!

After reading a few threads on forums I decided to swap out the pump with sender attached as this was the most likely cause of the problem.
original pump had done 108,000miles so thought it was probably about time to say goodbye to it anyway to be honest.

However, swapping out the pump/sender has done nothing to correct the fuel gauge issue!

Does anyone know of any other common fault that there might be that I could resolve?
The gauge can be some what erratic in its readings, even when the tank is full to the brim it only registers 3/4 of a tank and when I've done 75-100 it'll suddenly jump to full!

Please help!
