Unplugged the plug for the ignition switch from the one that is still in place in the car and plugged in the new switch into it. Turned the key to the on switch and
then carefully turned the new ignition switch with a screwdriver...initially the car turned over but then on successive attempts it did not... most likely the starter motor is now kaputt fur alle Zeit so I need a good comprehensive guide to changing the starter...as far as i know it is disconnect all the wires...support the engine with a jack...there are three bolts holding the starter in place one goes through the engine mount... take the three bolts out (not sure but the engine mount bolt is the first one to be taken out and last to be replaced??) take the starter out and put in a replacement...reverse all steps...

I have a replacement starter but was wondering how i could test that it really works before i put it on the car...really newd an idiots guide...
