I don't think that is a limitation on the Golf... mine certainly worked at temperatures lower than 7C...

On the BMW123d I had stop-start would only work if the external temperature was >= 4C...The first two months I had that car I didn't know if the stop-start worked that was November-December 2010... when the daytime temp barely rose above 0C...

I've had this 3 times in total but more worrying 2 times today. This is about an error I know a lot on here are talking about when it won't work but this is about an actual error. I would scan with vcds but restarting the car fixes it. Please let me know what the dealers says as I know mine will probably blame it on my exhaust somehow so I'm not even gonna waste my breath until I see an error report
