I'm a noob
« on: 14 May 2014, 12:25 »
Hi all,

I thought I'd join as this website seems a lot better than other mk4 Golf forums I've been a member of before (not mentioning any names)

I have a 2001 MK4 Golf GTI 1.8T with a few small (pre-remap) mods, and I'm really enjoying driving it!

It has 18" Wolfrace wheels (with vw center caps for a more 'oem' look)
Stainless steel 'longlife' cat back exhaust system with 4-mo style rear tail pipes.
Green 'cotton' panel filter and drilled airbox
Forge 008 diverter valve
n249 and n112 bypass
removed SAI system.
silicone pcv replacement hoses.
Also only run on super unleaded (maybe placebo effect only )

Anyway, it drives excellently and I can't wait for a remap!
According to the data on my android device and bluetooth odb2 reader, it produces a MAF reading of approx 132g/s which works out at about 165bhp! Not bad for an almost standard car

Looking forward to contributing on the forum!

Cheers
Rich

Desperately needs some lowering springs on it though, so some coilovers will soon be on the list!

Cheers

Lol, yeah I know - it reminds me of a farm vehicle at the moment, as my previous two cars had coilovers and it feels like I'm now driving on stilts!

I need mine to sit more like yours, rather than like this:
