Few problems and some added questions
« on: 26 February 2014, 20:31 »
Having some problems with my GTI lately coming close to 3,000 miles now since i picked it up in October the car lately seems to have developed a juddering when pulling away from say roundabout say when i slow car down then put some power on car feels like shaking. Also sometimes seems to stutter when pulling away from junction think im gonna need to take it to VW for them to have a look at bit disappointing to be getting fault it seems (Its a dsg for info)

Other problem is Sport mode dosnt seem to stick once ignition off and turn it back on sport mode is on but no sounds its just like driving normal profile and i have to manually switch back to normal then back again to sport? Also it seems that the sound for sensors seems to randomly turn itself off sometimes no idea why doing this.

What the best oil to buy for car and also what best tyre pressures for Dunlop tyres you get with the car?

Tramping?

Or it could be a reluctance of the autohold to let go when you pull away. But that would only happen on pull away, not when the car was already rolling. Sport mode should stay for the next time when you turn the ignition off without losing the sound actuator. Definitely a trip to the dealers. Tyre pressures will be in your fuel flap, but for an unladen car, your tyre pressures are likely to be around 36/37 PSI all round.

I was being facetious - but yours is a much more likely explanation ....

Thanks for the info ye it happens when rolling and when pulling away from junction the car can jolt much like learner driver bit embarrassing but learned to control it not so much power on throttle.

Definitely will be going in for a look the junction not to bad as it will only catch me out sometimes its the slowing down with brake switch to accelerator and the car judders. (like its in the wrong gear very weird certainly wasnt like this when first had it)

Anyone with recommendation for the best oil to get?

If your slightly rolling and roll under certain speed the car thinks it needs to apply the brakes so it does. In the mean time you push the accelerator and the brakes give a graunch sound. I think it's just the auto brakes and the fact it's slightly rolling.

I hate that. Give me an old school handbrake for on the road control anyday. The big improvement for me is the wind-on brakes when the car gets parked up - no way that's rolling down a hill when you leave it unattended.
