lower bonnet catch
« on: 30 January 2014, 12:05 »
it broke the other day so i'm driving around very carful until i can get a replacement, ordered one from vw heritage 25 bucks

gosh its bouncing around a bit, ive used a tie for now but cant really go above 50mph and its only being held down by the safety catch so i'm crapping myself everytime i have to drive to work.

+ side its saving me petrol

Just Delete the bonnet...
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

The lower bonnet catch is riveted on - do you have some new ones? Nearly broke my hands putting them in with my cheap old rivetting tool.

You can buy small long stainless screw types and just bolt through the existing rivet holes.
Drill off the old rivets snap off the heads they should drop out!
