So, new to this particular forum but quite active on other forums, I've just had my 14 year old mk4 gti (AGU) remapped by the folk over at Midland VW. Massive thanks to Chris who, even though I only rang up the day before, was able to squeeze me in the very next day.
All i'd done to the car was make sure that it was full(ish) with vpower, a catback I bought off of ebay when I first had the car and a brand new DV. The car didn't skip a beat, apart from the dirty throttle body that is
and produced rather interesting results.
After waiting for a 60 plate Audi A4 to be mapped, the car rolled up onto the dyno and made 165bhp and 161 lbft even before the map! Anyway Chris jumped straight in at the deep end and proceeded in setting the map up for the best results on my car...with outstanding results!
She produced, after map, 189bhp and 209lbft and the difference is night and day. The car feels like a GTi, producing boost from as little as 2k and peaking max torque at 3.6k. You can actually hear the turbo now!
And all this for only £150 which is £100 cheaper than I got quoted from anywhere.
The map isn't aggressive as I've heard the REVO map is, and is very smooth with boost peaking at 1 bar. I will upload the print-out at a later date, printer has a massive crack along the glass.
Anyway just wanted to add my 10 pence piece as all I see on posts regarding remaps are about R-Tech and REVO. Will definitely be going back come the summer when I have a ko3s fitted!
