Rocker cover gasket change
« on: 27 August 2005, 20:44 »
How long does this little job take?  Have the part from VAG (rubber not cork) and my trusty socket set, but didn't get round to it this afternoon.

Any tips on time and procedure?!

should take under half an hour and can be mostly done with a 10mm spanner. just a case of removing everything in the way and popping it off etc. easy really, the gasket you got is the best one to get too!

did you get a set of longer studs with the gasket?

your old studs will be too short when the new gasket is in place as its thicker

just put two bolts onto a stud and tighten them up to one another. Now unscrew the stud by the lower bolt and the stud should undo. you follow?

Makes perfect sense.  I was wondering how to replace the studs (came with the kit!).

Thanks!!
