have I got a faulty oil level sensor

Hi I've changed the oil pan/sump on my 1.9 tdi 130 so there is no oil in my car should the oil light come on mine dose not. So am thinking my oil level sensor my be faulty or could it be somthing else.. the oil light has been on before so I know the light on the dash is working please help me thanks Keith

Go ask in the relevant Section mate! Is it a Mk4 or Mk5 or whatever!
