Anyone used SeaFoam on their MK6 - Going to do it at the Weekend

Seen as im on 53k miles and just had a major service, I think its about time to give the engine a good clean inside. I have watched so many Americans use Seafoam but never had the balls to try it. They all say it really works and better idle and throttle response after.

Well im now committed, ordered the SeaFoam, tube and needle. So i will post my own video at the weekend.

Had mine terracleaned last year, improved things slightly, took car in for mot and guy said it was the cleanest running car he'd seen, don't know if sea foam is similar to terraclean but can't see know harm in it.
How did it go at vw Crosshills Ross?

Not 100% convinced by Seafoam yet, though it isn't going to do any harm provided it is fed in slowly.

The carbon build up is baked on at high temperature so it might dislodge some build up. The only proven method I've heard of is a manual clean which means removing the manifold...

Can't find any independent before and after tests for Terraclean...possibly more effective on an older engine.

Mint, all fixed and back on my drive. Such a good garage. Im going to write a personal email to chief of VW yorkshire and express my level of happiness. The service is second to non.

Yeah i dont expect it to do wonder, but for £17 its worth a shot i think. I know Terra clean cost a fair bit more. Well ill repost back at the weeknd and give an honest opinion.

I did pen an email to the CEO of VW/AUDI, and Ben received emails from area Directors today who are really pleased. The difference in service between VW Crosshills and many other dealerships is staggering. Cannot believe VW are not sorting this out.

Glad your experience was positive, and hope others follow suit, could be the Mark 6 GTI centre for the North!!!!!
