The next one?
« on: 10 January 2014, 00:39 »
115k 2001 1.8T in a poor state. Turbo sounds like an owl and it's gutless. It had some oil starvation issues the other day and towed back.

Stuck a new pickup pipe in there just to get them going for now. Lights sometimes randomly dim for a second. Alternator is squealing. MAF sensor knackered, lambda knackered, temp sensor knackered.

Think we will be looking at new turbo, needs wishbones and a DV.

But I could get it for about a hundred quid.

Now the question is do it up with cheap bits and sell it on or get it and stick a K04 or something on it.

The Mrs has knicked the TDI and I don't need a van anymore.

Just need them to hurry up and buy a brand new car, the MK4 has 18 or 19 RS4 reps with good tyres on it and Recaros. Not as well specced as the TDI though!

Where all my moneys went.

To be honest if it's in such a crap state at only 115k I wouldn't try and mod it, it clearly hasn't been looked after and you could end up plouging hundreds into it. Fix it up and sell it on, look out for another 1.8t to mod.

or buy it and break it, if it has recaros in theres your money back and some streight away.

cash the tax in, theres another £100 ish hopefully.

sell the rs4 reps with tyres, couple of hundred quid.even if you just did that then sold the rest to the scrap man for £200 - £300 ish, theres a good few hundred quid in your pocket for lets face it, fek all work.

To me its not worth the hassel of fixing it im affraid, cause imo i think it will be the type of car you fix one thing and another thing goes wrong and you could end up spending days sorting problems and buying replacement parts.

ill be the first to buy a part off you, and seens as i gave this advice i think you should do a good deal on it, boot mat posted to dl3. pm me a price if you break it... ;)
