MK2 GTi 8V Shaking its ar$?

hi guys,
i just got a mk2 gti 8v Yepee....( im only 18 u c ) and as i was driving it home ( On the M1 ) it felt very very shakey. it only starts shaking at about 4000rpm in 5th gear, its so bad i spilt pepsi all over me coz of the vibrations, so it took me 4 1/2 hours from manchester to london.

please if anybody knows about this problem, i think the cars gonna fall apart  :'( ?

Check your engine mountings first!

or wheel balances. I had a rear wheel that was bent as a fsck. shook the car really bad over 80mph. turned out 70grms on the one side and 100grms on the other out. the tyre place said they'd never get it balanced. so I robbed another off a dumped golf.
