I've done the boot pop as we'll it's ace! Really handy when you've got your hands full! Bought a kit off someone, slightly bigger rams than stock

I looked at the youtube vid i didn't see the struts upside down they were need struts fitted in the same orientation at least i thought they were

You don't rotate the struts,you spin the bracket round that they attach to.You then,at the other end where the strut fits to the door,it pushes onto a pin.This pin is replaced with a longer one.Then the buffers where the tailgate closes  are replaced with ones that have a spring in them.This pushes the tailgate and gives it momentum enough for the struts to take over when you press your key fob.
It's that long ago since I did it but I found the part number for the struts

The longer pins I think I got from Seat and the springy buffers from VW.
