wash and wax

now I have my spiffing gti I want to keep it clean

I have an autobrite lance and magifoam and I just need something that will, for want of a better phrase, top up the shinyness of my new car.

this time of year its hard finding a window to devote many hours so was hoping to try an easy to apply finish that I can do inbetween the passing storms!

so something like a wash and wax all in one or was also looking at the autoglym aqua wax which looks quick to apply and buff up

any preferred brands or experience with any?

You'll get loads of responses to this and tbh its down to personal preference, aqua wax is good. My only criticism is that it does a rubbish job of the windows. This is a good shout and easily worked too:-

I understand where you're coming from but I would take the extra time to properly wax it every few weeks.  It needn't take more than an hour to wax the whole car, then it's good for a few weeks.  A well waxed car will repel more dirt and should make your weekly wash easier, especially if you are snow foaming it as part of your routine.

Choice of wax is personal, but liquid waxes are a little easier to apply and buff off than hard or paste wax, so maybe better choice for a novice.

Wax is fine for a few months, inbetween I would suggest a quick detailer.  There are a few glass cleaners around including rain repellants.

have a look at

dodo juice red mist tropical (this will last a couple of months easy on and off)

dodo juice acrylic spritz (this will last you a few months easy on and off)

Bilt Hamber Hydra Wax probably the quickest wax to apply.

dodo juice best of bling QD. white drying the car spray on the panels when wet adds gloss and helps to lubricate the car when drying.
