Three or Four Point Harnesses

A quick question. Im looking at racing buckets and harnesses. Problem is i want to go for competition buckets which require a three or four point harness system (which in turn require a roll cage) Thats not the problem. My problem is the difference between the three or four point harnesses. I plan on bolting the barnesses to the rear seatbelt points (advantage of having no rear seats) the idea being that the harnesses are still relitivly close to the seats so in the event of a rear impact they wont sag and send me flying forward.

Problem is if i have 4 point harnesses i dont think i will have enaugh mounting points to place them unless i double up the ends into the smae hole, effectivly making them into three point harnesses so i might as well save my self £20 and go for three points. Problem is ive not go a clue what the pros and cons of doing this are so if anybody else can give me some recomendations it would help.

Also, i understand that one side of the bottom of the harness (the bit that goes over your lap) can connect to the original seatbelt mount, but were do i put the other? would it be wise to bolt it into the same hole that the seatbelt clickey thing originally sat?

you're correct in assuming that the other side of the harness would connect to the clickity bits mounting as this is still able to with stand the forces of a crash....would be a bit stupid if i didnt cos it would rip out :undecided:

So yeah, it should be fine to connect it to this mounting, but i would check with a garage first just in case

Oh, and the pro of fiiting a harness is that you don't get thrwon around the car as much as with a normal seatbelt, and you havent got the possibilty of a failure of the pendulum mechanism.  The con is that you havent got the same amount of freedom to move around the seat if you want to because the whole system is fixed
