Custom route planning

In an effort to spice up my commute from miles and miles of motorway to some fun country roads i have been looking to create a custom route.

First effort was using Google Maps, however it can't cope with the amount of route deviations. Does anyone have a good website where you can create a custom route?

Better still would be to enter the route in to the Discover Navigation unit in the GTI.

Bing Maps gives you more flexibility in either dragging the route to a desired road or adding a waypoint. I think Via Michelin does something similar too. They may not be the best and don't think they would be exportable to the discover NAC unit (happy to be proved wrong though ), but at least will give you a bit more than Google
