Help! Golf mk4 1.8 non turbo!

Just bought a mk4 20v gti non turbo inoo its not the fastest car in the world but i couldnt get the turbo as its my second car and insurance is crazy! Its an upgrade from a corsa tho

I wrote it all out but its dissapeared? I wrote like 4 paragraphs underneth that hahaa try again ill write them seperate this time

Problem 1 theres a pipe at the front of the engine on the 1.8 and mine has all coroded i went to the scrappers to get one and there was only 1.6s in and where the pipe goes on to on the 1.8 its capped off on the 1.6 and i have no idea what it is?

Problem 2 car gets up to temp but heaters are only warm? When they should be hot?

Number 3 there is a hissing noise coming from the n/s/r of the engine when its running and it carrys on for about 10 seconds after i turn it off, there are no leaks or anything?

Lastly, i know the cars slow in genral but is there any places i can get performance parts from like a decat? Cant find anything anywhere any help is much appriciated
