Just put 2 on the front of my van. Dry grip is crap  still pretty poor on wet road compared to my old tyres. Today I was driving through torrential ran and I saw an improvement compared to my old tyres. It does say on them that they operate under 6° so pros and cons. Just have to wait. But im sure ill be driving past many stuck drivers in the snow still earning a living

only got them because we are meant to have bad snow this year and last year I got stuck coming home from work.

what have you got on the back wheels then? summer or winter tyres.

you'll regret only fitting winter to the front - you will have grip accelerating but very little lateral grip, so corners won't be your friend (as much fun as it is sliding through them).

its a van not a golf bud. Certainly wont be driving fast enough for the arse end to swing out and if it does ill power out of it

only fitted rear winters to my bmw 528i couple years back too and that was fine. Didnt understeer at all.

In the London area you dont need much more than Rain tyres just take care.
Banjo country might be different but I don't live there lol
Last year I was working up the top of Norway and it was harsh, one of the guys has a merc with top notch winters on it with good grip but it's really down to how the population drive in respect to the roads and people around them.  I spend a lot of time in snowy parts and have to say the Scandinavians are the best at handling the winters in my experience.

The Nordics just don't really clear their roads, you just drive sensibly (fair enough snow grips again in -20) or if you have an Audi A4 (B7) 2.0 quattro with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 (proper winter tyres with studs): just put your foot down.

If I'll ever move back that'd be my ideal winter car.

Hm... somehow this went OT

My winter tyres are red and take an oyster card, im just tight.
I'll ask my friend what he has, swears by them as they give good cold grip on route to poland and don't fall apart on our winter roads in between trips
