Coming Home/Leaving Home Lights
« on: 20 September 2013, 23:05 »
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but does anyone know how to activate the 'Leaving Home' lights?

I assume these lights will work that once I lock the car, the lights will stay on for x-amount of time before going off, basically the reversed action of the 'Coming Home' setup?

I've tried ticking the box in the MFD menu (as shown in pics) but it still doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

I think you pull the indicator stalk back as if you are flashing the headlights.

I usually do it when I've switched the engine off before I open the door, once you open it the headlights come on.

But shouldn't it be done via the MFD system instead of 'manually' doing it?

They were my thoughts to. Not a bad thing though because i don't need my lights to stay on when I get out the car anyway!

You do need to turn them on manually in the Mk6, but you can change the settings using VCSD so that they stay on automatically like they do on a Mk5.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

+1 to that I did it using VCDS, leave the switch in auto and get out lights stay on, unlock/lock on the key fob and they turn off it you dont need them to stay on for the alloted time.

my leaving home lights work fine, just need to leave the light in Auto position, then when unlocking the lights will come on for 30 seconds.

Looks good in winter in the work car park, my cosmic blues' light up the whole car park for everyone

Cant remember if i turned them on using VCDS or not

Leaving home lights do work like that as standard, it's the coming home lights that need setting using VCDS to work automatically. Park up and the lights stay on for the set amount of time after you've locked it to light you to your front door. If you haven't altered the settings, you will need to pull the headlight flasher stalk after you have turned the ignition off to activate them.
