central locking issue
« on: 05 October 2013, 15:05 »
Ive had a quick look about but cant seem to find a thread on this. Anyway ever since ive got my mk4 ive had an intermittent problem with the central locking. Sometimes when i unlock the car using the remote all the doors unlock except the drivers door which will only unlock by using the key in the lock. Sometimes it will do this every time i unlock the car and other times it go weeks without doing it. Anybody got any ideas on what could be wrong. Its not really a problem just more of an annoyance.

It's a common problem.  The door lock mechanism starts to fail. I wouldn't worry too much about it until it fails completely.
Some days my passenger door wont open and others it will.

My passenger door sometimes doesnt work either. with the drivers one it normally opens unless it is chucking it down with rain so i get soaked  so far this car has had more problems than my old megane 225 which was suprisingly reliable.

Yes it went alot faster as it had been remapped and was running about 250-260bhp. Also handled alot better
