Gear box change

Hello all.
 Hopefully straight forward question but little time to search. What gear box will fit my 1.8 8v gti? I think it's a k-jet looking at photos of others. Runs on an f plate. Garge wants me to source box and they shall fit. Horrid knocking noise and they reckon gear box seal and bearings gone. They also said and golf, jetta, corrado, Audi 80 or a3 will fit. Is this correct and if so any ideas on where I can get one.

Look for another 8v gti box

You want to look for 4y, 9a, aen, acd or aug gearbox code

other gearboxes will fit but ratios will be different so itll drive different hence get an 8v box. Usually easy found
