New around here
« on: 22 July 2013, 09:05 »
Hello there you wonderful dubbers - i am finally a member of your world.

I just thought i would drop in and introduce myself, I'm Nobby and i've recently became the owner of a 1997 MK3 golf Cabrio.

She was in a bad way when i purchased her, but after a full service, clutch,  head gasket, oil filter housing, oil pump and clutch cable she seems to be on her way to recovery.

I have a few long term plans for this car but for starters she needs to go LOW ! with a view to eventually changing the Puny 1.8 (90hp) ADZ block for a VR6 lump bored at 2.3l but completely unsure on the parts list needed for the swap, and the braking and suspension needs attention before hand.

If anyone can offer any advice / other mods worth doing i will be much appreciative and along the way if i can help some others i will do my  best.

yeah looking to go low low low, could be tempted with a decent  spring / strut setup but im not  100% sure on desired height.

Thinking i will get some cheapo coilies (JOM, FK, e.t.c.) to find my prefered height and then maybe upgrade to some decent spec ones if the ride is to harsh...
