Hi everyone!

Just recently my mk4 golf gti (agu engine) has started playing up when attempting to start it after several hours of sitting or being left overnight for example.

It takes a good 15 seconds and a bit of prodding at the accelerator to make it fire up.

When I can get it going it also misfires for about a minute or so until it warms up. I think this could be down to flooding (due to the 15 second crank).

The even weirder bit though is that after I've got it going I can switch it off and then turn the engine back on straight away with no troubles!!!

Once it's running there doesn't seem to be any issues like limited power or anything.

Things I've replaced so far:

Crank position sensor
Intake air temp sensor
Fuel filter
Vac pipes
Cleaned throttle body

None of which have made a difference.

I've been reading all about fuel pumps, fuel pump relays, dodgy battery, spark plugs, coils etc... But I could end up replacing all of it and still have the problem.

Also had the RAC out and they scanned it and said no codes are being stored.

I'm at my wits end and shortly I'll set the bloody car on fire lol!

HELP!

Cheers

Gaz
