Central Locking Query
« on: 09 July 2013, 16:20 »
When I bought my golf second hand a year ago the central locking worked a dream first click every time.

Over the year it's started to get worse and alot less sensitive. I always put it down to being defunked battery in the key fob but I've put in a new battery today expecting it to go back to its former glory and instead it's as if the battery was never changed as its alot less sensitive than it use to be taking between 3-15 pushes of the button standing right next to the car before I get any response at all.

I quite often find myself standing there like a pillock pushing a button when infact I'd be quicker and easier if I just used the key. Which is what I've been doing .. :undecided:

I was just wondering if anyone has had this or similar problems before I go and start ripping out and renewing central locking kits.

Exact same thing happened to me mate, it eventually seized up and cost me £400 to get it sorted
