Engine management light

So I picked up my mk4 2.0 GTi last week and last night driving home the engine management light came on, so I rang up and am getting it scanned tomorrow/Thursday, however when I got back in the car this morning the light is off, is there any reason it's doing this or is there a common cause for this?

Also I should mention it was the first time I've taken the car on the motorway and the first time with me that it has done over 15 miles, it was 31.

wait until you get it scanned, that`ll give an idea.
an engine management light could mean anything.

Prob just a sensor playing up..happened to me cleared the codes and has never returned
