hi, i have just brought a 2001 golf gti, if i was being honest i dont really know alot about cars, this is why i want help, the car has been remapped and has a full milltech exaust system with a bailey dump valve and apexi turbo timer. the car is not modified on the outside apart from 18" rs4 rims and coilovers, i have been told the car is running 220bhp which in a way i can belive as it is very fast. basically what im asking if for help on performance parts to get for her starting from the basics, ive been told to put a cupra r fuel pump on her.. what difference will this make and what work do i have to do to put it on, any help would be great. thanks, tom

Hi Tom, do a little search as there is loads of topics on performance parts.

First thing id say is get a forge 007p dump valve the 1.8ts don't like atmospheric ones and forget the turbo timer, asking for trouble.

If its 2001 id guess its most likely k03s, if you say the engine code can confirm.  The K03s capable of 220bhp but with your mods I doubt it is, good exhaust but I bet its not turbo back need to do a fair few bits to get that.

Fuel pump wont be needed unless you do everything else before mapping. TIP, maf housing, down pipe, injectors(depending on engine code), stronger actuator, 007p, fmic, clutch, general health check and vac leaks, then the fuel pump and a proper remap.
