I can see what you mean, but everyday cars do get dirty though, so no point in stressing about it too much, you just have to clean them more often. 

Not that often. Minimal contact and all that.

Good point. 

But within the space of one week, mine has about a million bugs splattered on it, a ton of dust and the only window clean enough to see out of is the windscreen!  Only a full clean is gonna shift it all.

Fair play for trying to keep a daily driver to such a high level of cleanliness, but that would send me round the twist every time I drove the car trying not to get it 'too' dirty.

Oh I am fine with our cars, they are a 'normal' level of clean, certainly not suitable for any kind of show though

Those seem pretty respectable scores, given it's not just a show car........but to a perfectionist, room for improvement
