My definition of hatch only includes reference to the rear opening, not the number of doors! ;)  Can't beat a 5 door GTI for everyday fun and practicality!  My weekend car would be something far lower and with only two seats!

Definition of hatch then yes, for hot hatch then equals sport which equals 3 doors

Who told you that rubbish

History told me that rubbish as you put it

Mk1 Golf GTI - arguably the first hot hatch and only available in 3 door  :smug:

Arguably

Not sure what planet that definition comes from!  Being pedantic, it's a hot hatch if it's fast, good looking, handles well, and is as usable on the sporty windy roads as it is taking the kids to school and doing the weekly family shop.  A hot hatch is something practical that is "all things to all men", and for that, a 5 door GTI takes some beating.
Pure White Mk7 GTI (5dr, Manual)

Options: Reverse Camera, Keyless, Adaptive Chasis, Climate Screen, Winter Pack, Discover Nav, Advanced Phone Prep

That's what I meant to say, thanks

Each to their own. A GTI in its purest and finest form is a 3 door to me.

Glad you said that Mezza as at 1:18 I was thinking they looked a bit small, but didn't realise they could be 17" elsewhere.  Cheers
