Hi guys,

Been fancying a mk2 golf for a couple of years now but in the past few months the desire has got stronger and in the past couple of weeks I've actually got quite serious about it so just the other day I joined up and posted a Wanted, but then after watching many "not quite it" cars come and go on ebay, my ideal motor popped. I kept my cool and came away with my dream car for a snip.

Ok, so I broke all the rules! bought a car off ebay (without seeing it!) from a couple of photos, a brief description and a few emails back and forward, but at the end of the day it's £500 and comes with a new 12 month MOT, so worse case I drive it a few times find out it's crap and break it for parts!

It's a standard original 1986, 3 door. 8v, small bumper, quarter-lights, P slot wheels in white!

And pretty much as direct a replacement as I could possibly wish for, for the 1987 early E reg that I had and sold 15 years ago. Which was my aim.

It's a bit rusty on front wings and boot, as to be expected - but simple bolt on parts so I'm not worried. Hopefully the rest of the car checks out. Can't wait to get my hands on it but can't get it this week as my Brother has selfishly decided to have a wedding, so have to wait till next weekend.

Watch this space.

Here she is,

Pic from the Ad, I'll get some more sorted once I've got her home next weekend.

First job, service... and here the questions start, which oil would you recommend?
