Hi got a 96 1.8 single point driver with lack of power and puffing black smoke at full throttle.
All new on ignition side. has anyone had any faults with lambdas?

get fault codes read and measuring blocks analysed as well.
could be a number of things starting with a bad temp sender to faulty injector...
just guesswork in cases like these so get someone to look at it with vcds

checking lambda value with exhaust tester won't test you why it's rich running.
check the vcds user map, am sure there's someone nearish.... there is a pretty well populated map on vwaudiforum.co.uk

Coolant temp sender could be faulty and causing it to run rich.
