« on: 28 May 2013, 01:42 »
Okay I'm not sure if this has been asked before so apologies if it has,
Baisically as far as i know i can swap my 8v head for a 16v head on the same block, if I am correct dono need any looms or ecu etc to do this conversion, is it a big job?

The blocks are similar but its not that easy. By all accounts the head fits but the 8v pistons give really low compression and may collide with the valves as there not central in a 16v head. Then the management is totally different.

It would be far more worthwhile to change the whole engine. If you have a quick look at my project thread im in the process of fitting a 2 litre 16v engine, it's involved but it is a DIY proposition.

it wont work. just find 2.0 8v bottom end and fit that - straight fit no extra wiring etc needed
