ABF Immobiliser wiring - vw/Seat
« on: 02 May 2013, 13:10 »
Hello!
Can anyone help me please!?
I understand Rub Johnny is the Guru for these things if you're out there but any help is appreciated!?!?

I have put an ABF engine into an 8v Mk3 shell & I have an ECU remapped by TSR to go in with it.
The problem is that the ECU, key with transponder chip & immobiliser box under the column came as a set from a Seat Cupra. Because of this the immobiliser box has different plugs & wires!!
VW has 5:
2x Brown to earth
1x Black to ignition live
1x Grey ?
1x Grey & White stripe ?
Seat Has 6:
2x Brown to earth ?
1x Black to ignition live ?
1x Green ?
1x Green & Red stripe ?
1x Red ?
I presume (we all know what they say about presumption....) that the two browns & the black are a direct swap. Also that green would go to grey & green stripe to grey stripe. Can anyone confirm this & does anyone know what the red would be - constant live maybe?
I can't get it running but this could be due to other problems so I have no way of telling.
Also does the immobiliser simply turn off the fuel pump or are there variations such as switching off the injectors or similar?

Many thanks in advance for any information offered!
Ross.

If its an immoboliser issue, the engine will start, then cut out after 1 second. However i am not sure if this is how it works on the MK3. But i am defo sure its like this for the MK4 Golf.
