desperate help needed - stalling car
« on: 16 April 2013, 14:48 »
I have a mk4 gold agu engine, the other day whilst driving the car 'backfired' then turned off. Now when i start the car it stalls and turns off pretty much straight away unless it has been left over night then it may take 30 seconds to stall and everytime after that it will stall straight away.

If i unplug the MAF then it will run but obviously this is not good. I tried another MAF sensor from another AGU which i know is fine and that did the exact same thing.

I took my spark plugs out and number 3 was covered in oil, I have replaced both the inner and outer gaskets and replaced the spark plugs but it still does it.

I am in desperate need of help or advice!

If it runs when the maf is unplugged then surely the maf is at fault?

Ignition amp gone. Its on side airbox on the agu. Try getting one to test it see that helps. If does you know what to get from the dealers

there are no fault codes lads, according to the car everything is fine.....

gaskets changed were just the inner and outer rocker seals because they were leaking, the fault was here before changing them.

tried another ignition amp today which didnt improve anything BUT that was a second hand unknown unit so i cant be sure of that.

Just really stuck as to what it is! :(
