What diamiter pipe to fit an induction kit from the MAF?

The KO3/s maf is 2.75"s in diameter but the bit that connects to a cone is 2.5"

mk4 golf maf is 2.5inches, the vr6 maf is 2.75, cupra r/s3 Maf is 3 inches

or is that the inner diameter?

It's a Ko3s and a standard 1.8t MAF. So 2.5" would fit the MAF then a reducer to suite the cone?
