Ok my 8v engine is getting tired. Its almost needing its 3rd set of tappets just had its 2nd oil pump and now i can hear definate bottom end knocking. So my plan is to get a donor engine and strip rebuild while the one in the car slowly expires (i hope)! So what kind of budget do i set and not sure about bore sizes and pistons to go for?? Im only looking for a standard set up and as close to a new engine as possible but i want to do it myself partly as a project but also so i know whats been done and how well its been done. Any advice on what im looking at work wise and cost wise?
