Advice on a mapped Bora
« on: 24 March 2013, 20:04 »
Hi fellas ive a question for you,i may have the chance to swap my Bora for another Bora (03 plate) only the other Bora is 100bhp and been mapped to 150bhp so the fella says with no other mods,so firstly is it possible for such an increase,if thats ok should other parts be uprated to cope with the extra power, both 1.9tdi's by the way.
thanks for any advice,Chambo

What engine does your bora have at the mo?

The engines/clutches/turbos can cope easily with a standard remap, as long as it isn't abused daily and looked after well.

I wouldn't be swapping purely on the basis that it has a remap, you could get a remap for ~£200-300. All about the extras IMO.

Hi Scarr89 thanks for your reply,
my engine is the 110 and could get a map locally for £250 from a recommend tuners so i may go down that road as i know my cars up together and not been abused and it would be an eco map mainly with perhaps a bit more power, unsure really and will need to speak to the tuner.
I wouldn't have been swapping purely for the other cars remap his car is newer and less miles but mine is a much better spec. All the and thanks again for the reply.

Seems daft to swap cars for the sake of a remap even more so if yours is a better spec.

Just remap yours.
