VW approved Kenwood DAB/SATNAV
« on: 12 March 2013, 10:43 »

Hi

Has anyone had this unit fitted in their VW ?  I am curious as to how good it is. I really like the idea that this unit is suited for VW group cars ie displays the climate displays etc
I currently have an RCD310 DAB heatunit and also Dynaudio.

Do you think that the Kenwood unit would give better sound than the current head unit ?

It's a lot of money considering you can buy an as new, used RNS510 for £500ish, however that doesn't have DAB.

What I am impressed with is the RNS315 that is in my Passat. That has Nav, DAB and Bluetooth built in and in my opinion is nicer to use than the RCD510 / RNS510 that were fitted to the Golf.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Thanks Dubber.
I currently have DAB so couldn't go without it now.  Must admit, I did toy with a RNS510
