Lower front grill replacement on GT TDI

I had a bit of a bird strike last night and the lower front grill, under the number plate, got broken.
Had a bit if a search last night and could find out if it was a bumper off job to replace it on the older pre facelift GT TDIs.
I found some stuff for the GT Sports & GTIs for which the front grills seem to peel off.
Hoping it just clips in from behind.

had same happen to my 54 plate gt tdi a few months ago, the grill just clips in from the front so no need to drop the bumper off
