I have bought all sorts of things from ebay. from parts for my car to guitars and have only been burned once. pretty good reputation I would say. :)

I was thinking of trying ebay myself. Bidding for cheap cars is very appealing  ;D

That it is. My wife usually has to confiscate my bank card, credit cards, and check book when I am looking at cars there. My problem is I see so many "good" deals. Then I see a car I had as a kid or one that I wanted as a kid. Dangerous place.

Yeah the chance of buying a car for under a fiver sounds mental but worth it for a chuckle.

Ahhhh, bliss, a thread about ebay!!! ;D

I buy and sell loads on there. Carparts I buy are usually badges for the DUBs (little blighters keep nicking them off my car) and I did buy a corrado grill (even tho I dont have a corrado......yet he he he)

A coupe of mates have bought cars off there, personally I think you just need to know what you are buying and read all the description. There is a facility to 'ask seller a question' also, which is often invaluable when buying stuff.

Basically, the rule of the bay is if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is!!!

I'm in the process of putting together a MKII for track use and have sourced just about everything except the shell and engine from e-bay with no probs. The only words of advice i can offer is not to get carried away. Whilst trying to get hold of the seats, a number of auctions went for close or over what you could source new for! eg a pair of sparco sprint's going for ?235 when you can get them from demon theives for ?95 +VAT each. I eventually got a pair of virtually new Sparco speed's with runners for ?150 where you would pay that for each one and then ?20 odd for the runners. Lovely in bright scarlet!
