I have a K & N induction kit fitted on mine with MAF fitted next to the cone filter.That plug could be the inlet air temperature sensor.

It hasnt got a maf sensor at all bud, we took the induction off to see if it was underneath and there genuinely isnt one

Ok.Best plan would be to get someone to run a VAGCOM diagnostics on the engine.This will throw up any fault codes you have and pinpoint the parts you need to look at.This will save you throwing money at something that you may not need.
