Mines gunna be the same, and I also dispise my car...till the right foot goes down :D

What noise? Mk3s do have a noise when accelerating, bit like a leak.  Seen a few threads about it and nobody knew why!

It may be a money pit at the moment, but perseverance will bring a decent car thatll last a long time!

Who quoted you for welding? If it was the mot place I'd get a couple of quotes...

Not the manifold. Cost me £180 to discover that. They took it apart with its seizd bolts replaced the gaskets n nothing. Still a stupid noise. If my primera gt hadnt been written off whilst parked by an old biddy in a landrover we wouldnt even be having this conversation

In fairness, once the welding is done you'll have a solid car that should last a good while. I know mine will need the sills doing this year, and the rear arches are fooked, but I love the thing.

Air Supply sang I'm all outa Love.

Mine has been great! Had it 10 years now and no major work done on it, except stuff I changed and the sills that only needed doing due to being crushed by garages jacking in the wrong place!
