I think two days a week on it's own during the day is perfectly reasonable.  Just waiting until our finances are more settled before we make any decisions.

My Collie-Whippt cross is 12 soon and still acts like a puppy sometimes!  I was out rolling up large snowballs yesterday and he was dashing about, biting them, yapping, scratching them!

Here he is a few years ago...he's still just as active, but slowing down a bit.

To be honest I think 10 hours at a time is too long on any day.... dog would get bored and lonely and would probably need to go to the toilet! It would be ok with a dog walker for an hour half way through though
